Dr. Chong undertook two prestigious overseas fellowships before returning to New Zealand to pursue his interest in these subspecialties: a Robotic Urology Fellowship at Guy's Hospital, London, and a Reconstructive Fellowship at University College London Hospital (UCLH), in conjunction with the London Complex Mesh Centre (LCMC).
With a passion to serve patients from all walks of life and a dedication to high-quality medical care, Dr. Chong has established an excellent reputation as a conscientious and compassionate urologist, committed to supporting you and your family throughout your urological journey.
He is the only surgeon in New Zealand trained in both minimally invasive/robotic cancer surgery and reconstructive urological surgery. He was also a member of the multi-disciplinary team at the London Complex Mesh Centre (LCMC), dedicated to caring for women experiencing complications after pelvic mesh insertion. He is versatile and comfortable across all treatment approaches — open, laparoscopic, robotic, endoscopic, vaginal and perineal.
